Six Top Tips to Lose Weight With Fibre

There are a lot of ways that diets can fail - if you are reading this then the chances are that you have failed in at least one weight loss attempt already! I know from my experience that I spent a LOT of time on the "all I have to do is exercise more and it'll be fine" diet before I finally decided to get some expert advice. That's just one of the tempting philosophies that just don't work on their own! To achieve true, sustainable weight loss, you need to make some changes in your lifestyle - and your diet - and the purpose of this article is to look at the ways you can lose weight with fibre, but that does not mean that is the only change to be made!

The fact is that a lot of us have gained weight through insufficient fibre in our diets, so it makes sense that you can lose weight with fibre simply by introducing it into your diet again! And the reasons for the decline in fibre in our diet are largely the usual suspects - white bread, processed foods, fast food, and so on - all the foods that we KNOW we should not be eating, but we still do...

So - here are my Six Top Tips for redressing the balance and starting to lose weight with fibre:

* Drink plenty of water! Hang on - I thought this was an article about fibre? Well - it is, but if you simply increase your fibre intake without increasing your water intake, you are on a fast track to constipation - which is NOT a known weight loss system... Make sure your body has all the water it needs to process the fibre - otherwise you may gain and not lose weight with fibre!

* Switch to wholemeal bread instead of white. If you can find it - even switch to sprouted grain bread, which not only contains the fibre you need, but also has reduced calories because the grains have been sprouted. WholeFoods or most health food stores will have this kind of bread, as well as an increasing number of regular supermarkets.

* Wherever possible, switch to a less-processed food. So instead of buying that instant microwave lasagne, have a go at making one yourself - it's remarkably easy to and YOU get to choose what goes in it! And it is very little extra to make enough for several meals - all the convenience of fast food, much better for you AND your wallet doesn't need to lose weight at the same time.

* Eat more fruit and vegetables - especially raw, unprocessed. These are also great snacks - just be aware of how many calories you are adding to your day. This will always be better than grabbing a chocolate or candy bar, but sweeter fruits in particular can contain a lot of sugar. You can lose weight with fibre from fresh fruits, but not if you are also jacking up your calorie intake!

* Consider a fibre supplement - especially if you have not been used to having a lot of fibre in your diet, you may need a certain amount of cleansing! Health food stores again usually sell various fibre supplements, from soluble, drinkable fibre to fibre tablets. And you can also get cleansing programs, which are a short-term, more aggressive fibre product. Don't confuse these with laxatives - trying to lose weight with laxatives can be very dangerous as you can dramatically change the electrolyte balance in your body. Fibre will only help your body's natural processes.

* Drink LOTS of water! Seriously! Fibre is going to absorb water in your system - that's how it expands and gives your body the cleansing power that it needs to detoxify your system. But if you are going to lose weight with fibre effectively, your body still needs plenty of water to carry the toxins to your digestive system for elimination.

Fibre has been and continues to be a big part of my weight loss and maintenance - and you can lose weight with fibre too - start incorporating the six tips above, and you'll be losing weight with fibre in no time!

And, of course, don't forget to get onto a regular exercise regime, such as Strip That Fat - exercise wakes up your metabolism, while the fibre cleans everything out - a great combination!

Losing Weight Safely

Those that want to lose weight usually think about reducing the amount of food they eat. This may seem like a reasonable solution but not necessarily the safest. Fact is, the amount that you reduce in your food intake to lose weight, may be dangerous to your health. So how do you lose weight safely? Here are some pointers to consider before you try to lose weight:

Losing Weight Safely: Crash Diets

Most people think that losing weight means eliminating the calories alone can shed off their excess weight. What people don't realize is that this is a dangerous mentality to losing weight because when they decrease their calorie intake below the required levels, the body begins to digest the fats. Sounds great but it doesn't work that way. Burning fat requires a lot of energy. Since there is not enough energy in the body to facilitate the metabolism to burn fat, losing weight will progress at a very slow pace and result in fatigue, illness and a weak immune system.

Low-calorie diet is also compensated for by burning muscle. People on this type of diet who revert back to their old eating habits end up gaining back their weight loss, if not all the weight fat they lost. And since fats have more volume per mass than muscle, they end up with the same weight as before but more bulky. In losing weight, you should keep in mind that you should lose excess body fats only.

However, you can try out eating small meals at more frequent intervals. The body will not think that it is being starved and will not store food as fat. Losing Weight Safely: Eat Properly

You may have considered junking the crash diet option but he should also not forget to watch what he is eating. A variety in diet must always be considered so that you may be able to get the necessary nutrients from your diet. It is also healthier to eat foods that are roasted, steamed or broiled rather than fried. It is also important to include a lot of fiber in the diet. Frequent re-hydration is also necessary while losing weight safely.

Losing Weight Safely: Pump up lean Muscle Mass

Muscles burn calories when they work; they even do so at rest. Unlike fats, muscles burn calories all-day round. With this fact, you can start weight loss by increasing muscle mass. The more muscles, the less fat will be left. This is attainable starting with working out with resistance exercises.

Losing Weight Safely: Engaging in Aerobics

Aerobics are good for the heart by increasing cardiovascular endurance. Aerobics also help in developing lean muscle mass while simultaneously decreasing excess body fat. Aside from these, aerobics make the metabolic process more efficient and its rate high, even after a long while.

Losing Weight Safely: Extra "Push"

Some people believe that smoking and caffeine can actually help in losing weight. This can perhaps be true; however, they do the body more harm than good because of their side-effects. For that extra "push", you can try out taking food supplements. After all, 95% of these products out in the market actually do some good.

Losing Weight Safely: On Taking Diet Pills

While diet pills affect the amount of weight loss as well as how long you can keep that weight off. However, you must be concerned of the side-effects of these diet pills. Furthermore, diet pills are only of benefit to losing weight as long as you are taking them. Once you have terminated the use of diet pills, the weight loss usually returns.

Losing weight safely does not have to entail sacrifice and suffering. It actually means opening up to a new outlook in a lifestyle that benefits a full and healthy life. Losing weight might entail a little adjustment in your beginning efforts, but as the old saying goes, "no pain; no gain."

The Atkins Diet: Eating to Lose Weight With the Atkins Weight Loss Program

The Atkins Diet has been proven to be a successful way to lose weight. Although the validity of reducing carbohydrates has been hotly disputed – time has let science prevail. Atkins diet works to lose weight.

The Atkins Diet hasn’t been hiding under an upside-down bowl of chocolate pudding over the last few decades. The Atkins Diet Weight Loss Program has been helping people lose weight and keep their weight off for years. Decades ago, the Atkins Diet stirred things up in the dietary world – going against the conventional wisdoms of how to lose weight. Atkins told his dieting audience that if they wanted to lose weight, bread had to take a backseat to meat. Losing weight meant losing carbohydrates. Atkins’ voiceful confidence in his dietary theories prevailed to make the Atkins Weight Loss Program one of the most recognized diets in the world. Diet eating took on a new form. Dieters were shocked that they could still savor the juicy red steak and lose weight at the same time. Flavors stayed and carbohydrates were exiled. The Atkins diet surpassed its “fad” status, and time has demonstrated that the Atkins diet is a scientifically proven way to lose weight successfully.

Back in 2007, the Washington Post reported a study done by Stanford University that compared four diets. Two were low-carb diets, one was a behavior modification diet, and one was a low-fat diet. These were all very popular diets that women chose to lose weight. The Atkins diet was one of the contenders, and the winner. More women were able to lose weight with the Atkins diet than the other low-carb diets that sought to capitalize on Atkins success. Additionally, more women were able to lose weight with the Atkins diet than they were with the low-fat diet and the diet that focused on losing weight with behavior modification.

Atkins Diet Weight Loss Program did more than just help women lose weight. It also helped women reduce their bad cholesterol. Triglycerides levels dropped. Triglycerides are linked to heart disease. The women losing weight with the Atkins diet also lowered their blood pressure, and had the highest increase in HDL – which is the good cholesterol. LDL, on the other hand, is bad cholesterol, and a major factor in the risks for heart disease. Experts have speculated that Atkins Diet Weight Loss Program would substantially increase a dieter’s LDL. This would be a logical assumption since the Atkins Diet suggests that you can lose weight by substituting meat (high in saturated fats) for carbohydrates to help you lose weight. The results of the Stanford study showed only a slight increase in LDL levels; however, the LDL blood levels from the Atkins dieters were no different from the other dieters.

Eating to lose weight with the Atkins Diet Weight Loss Program no longer has to carry the stigma that it’s a “fad.” Dieters can feel confident that they will lose weight with the Atkins diet. Eating healthy to lose weight with a low-carbohydrate diet will not cause the imminent heart failure that some dissidents feared. Losing weight with the Atkins Diet Weight Loss Program is the scientifically proven way to get your diet out of your book and onto your plate. You’ll lose weight, lose triglycerides, and gain some good HDL. The proven success of the Atkins diet means you don’t have to lose faith – the only thing you have to lose is weight.
